Hi hasllers, we hope you enjoyed the 2019 Web Summit in Lisbon this week. We sure did! We got the chance to meet some of you, some other startups as well as the hugest companies in #technology and web services.
The three day event started with an amazing opening night, featuring a number of amazing and successful startups and following with inspiring speeches from #EdwardSnowden, #Huawei‘s president Mr. Guo Ping & finishing off with the amazing conversation about saving the planet with #JadenSmith, Gary White, Paul O’Callaghan & Laurie Segall.
The breakout startups featured talks from #Fyde, #Demodesk, #Barkyn, #Casafari, #Evervault, #Fiskl, #Boundless, #SafetyWing, #Mutiny, #Techstars Toronto, #Rise, #Ohne, #Localyze, #Shleep, #Eastnine, #Valispace, #Tonic App & #Stratio.
The conversation with Edward Snowden was an answer to how much we really know about the background & motivations which led him to take the seismic societal actions of exposing the US government’s system of mass surveillance. He went into detail about the that shaped his life, including how he helped to build that system & motivated him to try to bring it down. ” It’s not #DataProtection that is the problem, it’s the #DataCollection & the integrity of it all.”
Mr. Guo Ping, Huawei’s president also spoke about #5G+X and how it is creating a new era. He outlined his vision for the Chinese Tech giants future & dove in depth about how 5G+X will change the shape of our future.
On day one, Tuesday 5th November, Haslle had the opportunity to exhibit among other #Alpha startups and showcase what we do, which problem we are solving and how, as well as meeting some of you, talking with other startups and journalists as well as prospective investors at Pavillion 2, A307. It was a pleasure to answer some of your questions about our product and dive in to the details of how our product will save hours of employees time and simplify the #ExpenseManagement and control #EmployeeSpending for #managers.
Day two and day three, 6th & 7th of November were dedicated to networking with #companies, #startups, #entrepreneurs and individuals about the future of #FinTech and how we can strive to offer the most #innovative products to simply lives of companies as well as individuals in regards to #finance and #technology. There were also amazing #talks, #seminars & #workshops related to the newest technologies, and how to transfer from this era to the next.
Some of the amazing seminars our #haslle team got to attend during those last two days were “Reinventing your #brand in a #digital era” by the CMO’s of #IKEA & #JPMoganChase, “Multi-platform media: The digital challenge” by the CEO of #Tastemade, #CEO of #United Group, and the Executive Director of #CondeNast.
“The New York Times: Storytelling for brands by the creative director of #NewYorkTimes. “Marketing in 2020” by #BurgerKing & Tonino #Lamborghini’s CMO’s. “Google: The role of technology in climate action” by #Google’s #sustainability officer. And finally, “Purpose as an #accelerator for transformation” by #Forbes, #CMO of #Eurospoprt and Chief Creative officer of R/GA.
Among the inspiring and educational seminars, there were a lot of companies present that are giants in Technology. To name a few, #AmazonWebServices, #Google, #Microsoft, #Siemens, #Porsche, #SAP, #Cisco, #Huawei, #Accenture, #KPMG, #Samsung, #Volkswagen, #Mastercard, #Fujitsu, #Mailchimp, #Airbus, #PVH and many more.
We also had the pleasure of attending the Amazon Web Services (#AWS) Happy hour event at the #MentorHours area during the Websummit. This event was held for startups & #mentors to continue conversations and network among the other relevant #alpha & #beta startups attending and #exhibiting during the #WebSummit19.
